2016年、人類は遠い宇宙からやってきた「重力波」の初観測に成功。
アインシュタインが一般相対性理論の中でその存在を唱えてから100年余り…
ついに、その時を迎えた。
二つのブラックホール同士の衝突によって生じた時空の歪みを地上で検出し、
世紀の大発見として話題になった。この時生じた時空の歪み（時空のさざなみ）
によって、現行世界と並行して存在する「この世界に似た別の世界*」への扉が開き、VM5の4人が現れた。
彼らがこの世界に来た目的とは？
そして彼らがこの世界に残る理由とは…？
（*「この世界に似た別の世界」とは、異世界や別次元という概念とは違い、『この世界』と同じ次元に位置している。）
Story
VM5（ブイ・エム・ファイブ）は、日本の4人組エレクトロ・ロックバンドである。2016年、人類が「重力波」の観測に成功した日に、時空の歪み（時空のさざなみ）によって「この世界に似た別の世界」からやってきた4人で構成されるという設定である。
ダンスロックサウンドに、50年代風ロックンロールギター、60年代サーフミュージック的エレキベース、70年代オリジナルパンク風ギター、80年代風ヴォコーダー、90年代的なシンセサイザーをミックス。メンバー4人は、全く異なるスタイルのリードボーカルをとる。
ステージでは、光るメガネとモノトーン・スーツを着用。エネルギーが満ち溢れたパワー全開のライブパフォーマンスは、熱狂的なロックファンからも支持を集めている。
Biography
2016年、都内近郊でライブ活動開始。大貫憲章などロックDJ多数参加するNUGGETS Partyに参加。
2017年、アジアツアー（台湾・ベトナム・カンボジア）を行う。沖縄では、BRADIO、かりゆし58との３マンライブを行う。
ライブ音源「LIVE EXPLOSION FROM MARS」をリリース。（自主）
2018年、オムニバス形式*のイベント（*DJ、バーレスクダンス、ドラァグクイーン、お笑い）を開催。ライブ音源「LIVE EXPLOSION FROM VENUS」をリリース。（自主）
2019年、JAPAN EXPO ROCKS 2019 にて、見事優勝！フランス・パリでのツアーを行う。

Q, 『あっちの世界』とは、どんな世界なのですか？
A,「詳しいことをお話することはできません。ただ１つ言えることは、『あっちの世界』では誰もがやりたいことをやって生きています。音楽によって豊かな時間が流れ、そして悲しみも苦しみも音楽によって浄化されます。」
Q, 結成のきっかけを教えてください
A,「私たちは、この世界を笑顔にしたいです。この世界を笑顔にする方法、それは音楽です。SHAKが私たちに『ダンスミュージックをベースとした、ロックンロールでパンクなバンド』をやろうと言いました。それはとても興奮する誘いでした」
Q, VM5はどんな音楽なのですか？
A,「私たちが大好きな音楽をミックスしたダンスミュージックです。ロックンロール、パンク、ビックビート、テクノ、ポップスなどをダンスサウンドで表現しています。カバー曲もやります。RAMONESやBay City Rollersのダンスナンバーを聞きたくないですか？」
Q, どのようなライブをするのですか？
A,「ぜひ私たちを見て下さい。誰よりも飛び跳ねて踊っています（笑）心や踊りは伝染します。また、ライブを1つのショーケースにしています。スタートからエンディングまで、１つのストーリーです。」
Q, なぜ、光るメガネをしているのですか？
A,「光るメガネをしているとき、ほとんど何も見えません。音楽は、身体で耳で鼓動で感じれば十分です。もう１つの理由は、わたしたちは『この世界』に存在する自分たちに会ってはいけないので顔を隠す必要があります。」
Q, モノトーンのスーツを来ているのはなぜですか？
A,「ファッションを考えることは好きです。一番今の自分達に似合う服を選びました。」
Q, 今後の目標、活動、夢を教えてください。
A,「私たちは、全ての人々にエンターテイメントを楽しむ能力があることを知っています。しかし、人々の環境はそれぞれです。誰もがエンターテイメントを楽しむ環境やシステムが必要ですそれは、平等であるべきだと思います。国境や格差、差別や偏見を超え、私たちは、どこへでも、誰にでも、音楽を届けに行きたいです。私たちに協力をしてくれる人を探しています。」
Story
VM5 is a Japanese ELECTRO ROCK band formed in 2016.
Their music is based on DANCE MUSIC mixed with the sounds of 50's ROCK 'N' ROLL guitar, 60's SURF bass guitar, 70's PUNK ROCK guitar, 80's vocoder and 90's synthesizer. Four members take main vocals with a completely different style.
They wear glowing glasses, suits and ties, and call their own high-energy live perfomance as “Explosion itself”.
It is said that they came from "Another world similar to this world" due to the distortion of spacetime.
Biography
VM5 were started in 2016 by ASAKO (bass guitar and vocals), SHAK (guitar and vocals), MAKOJET (guitar and vocals) and KIMURA (drums and vocals). It was experiment with a new sound that mixed DANCE MUSIC with a PUNK ROCK / ROCK ‘N’ ROLL crossover.
VM5 played their first show at the party “Sense of Wonder Land” held in Shibuya, Tokyo. Not only rock bands, also comedians and DJs were on the bill. (This party inspired VM5. Two years later, they held their party with various kinds of artists).
Late in 2016, they shared stage with rock DJ, Kensho Onuki in “NUGGETS Party”. A part of the show was broadcasted in radio program, "Kenrocks Nite Ver. 2" on InterFM 897.
The band made their first TV appearance on VIEW TV in Vietnam, during their first Asia tour in 2017. On this tour, they played in Taiwan, Vietnam and Cambodia looking for something new they have never done before. Those shows were recorded, later released as the album "LIVE EXPLOSION FROM MARS".
In 2018, in collaboration with Digital Hollywood University, young creators shoot music video of “Rock Me All Night”. Then the band held the party “DANCE 2 DA MUZIK” and shared stage with DJ, burlesque dancer, drag queen, comedian and painter.
In 2019, the band won the rock band contest. As the prize, VM5 will play at “JAPAN EXPO 2019” which will be held in Paris. The band is making new album now.

Q: What kind of world are you from?
A: We can't tell you more about it. The only thing that can be said is, in another world we came from, everyone is doing what they really want to do.
Q: How come you formed VM5?
A: We had known each other as a leader of another bands. We’ve wanted to form dream-band like THE BEATLES which has four attractive lead singers.
Q: What kind of music do you play?
A: DANCE MUSIC mixed with our favorite music, ROCK 'N' ROLL, PUNK, BIG BEAT, TECHNO, POPS, etc. And we love playing cover songs. For example, DANCE MUSIC meets RAMONES and BAY CITY ROLLERS, do you want to hear them? We’d love to!
Q: Tell me about your “Explosion” live performance.
A: We jump and dance more than anyone else. Haha. Enthusiasms are contagious. And our show is like, TV shows or Radio programs.
Q: Why are you wearing glowing glasses?
A: Do you ask same question to masked wrestlers? Haha. We think less information gives you more imagination. Another reason, we have to hide from ourselves existing in “this world”.
Q: Why do you wear suits?
A: We love fashion. So we choose clothes most suit us at the time. I don’t know why but, always the same clothes.
Q: Tell me your future goals, activities, and dreams.
A: We know that all people have the ability to enjoy arts. Everybody should be given equally an environment and system to enjoy it. Beyond borders, disparities, discrimination and prejudice, we want to deliver our music anywhere, to anyone. We are looking for someone to help us to do it.
